The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has advised students of the institution to remain at home.

LAUTECH equally advised parents not to allow their wards and children to return to school because the university is yet to resume.

CAMPUS GIST understands that the institution made the clarification in reaction to a viral statement which claimed that the university has resumed amid the ongoing strike by university unions.

The statement allegedly signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, had directed students to resume on 18th August, 2022.

But, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Olalekan Fadeyi said the statement allegedly signed by the Registrar did not emanate from the university management.

Fadeyi, therefore, urged members of the public, especially parents, staff and students of the institution to disregard it.

He said, “The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has denied issuing any statement purportedly announcing resumption of academic activities on August 18, 2022.

“The statements already going viral, allegedly signed by the institution’s Registrar, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, did not emanate from the university management”.
