Vice Chancellor of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, has described President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, as a careless talker by calling universities that are not on strike “quacks.”
UNIOSUN is not a quack university, according to Prof. Adebooye, who noted that the state-owned institution employs 481 full-time academic staff members, 387 of whom hold full-time PhDs.
The ASUU President had in a recent interview referred to Osun State University, Kwara State University, Lagos State University, and Kwara State University as “quacks” for not joining the ongoing strike by the union.
“Kwara State University is not an ASUU member. Osun State University’s membership in ASUU was terminated due to misbehavior. We are in court with LASU (Lagos State University) because they sacked all our executives more than five years ago. They were not part of this struggle,” Osodoke had said.
