Following the call for Nigerians to identify and show love to one another by the Chaplain of All Saints Chapel, UNIBEN, Ven. Osazee David Egbenusi, the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami on Sunday sponsored a tea session for members of the church after the day’s service.

CAMPUS GIST recalls that Ven. Egbenusi had during last Sunday’s service asked Nigerians to show love to one another following the death of Prince Carter Oshodin, a staff of the university, who reportedly committed suicide as a result of the hardship caused by the ongoing strike by university unions.

Professor Salami noted that indeed a lot of persons are truly depressed due to the hardship occasioned by the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to the Vice Chancellor, her gesture may seem little for some persons, but for many who may choose to keep their situations private to themselves, it would mean a lot to them.

She also used the occasion to sue for the sustainability, sponsorship and replication of the kind gesture by more well-meaning individuals not just within the university campus, but across neighborhoods and communities.

On his part, the All Saints’ Chaplain, Ven. Osazee David Egbenusi, who offered prayers for Professor Salami, commended the Vice Chancellor for her kind gesture, while calling on others to emulate the UNIBEN VC and show love to one another.
