II. On ASUU Strike: The Council plead and appeal to the leadership of ASUU to put into consideration the plight of Nigerian Students and the negative impact of the strike on the Nation’s economy and the local economy of the host communities of our Universities. ASUU should in the interim abide by the Court Order granted by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria to enable students go back to class, this should be done with expediency while the case continues in Court and negotiations with the Federal Government continue, as well.

III. The Council call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to see to the full implementation of the ASUU/Federal Government agreement to allow for
seamless resumption of academic activities across Nigerian public universities.
The Council implore Mr President to improve the funding of education sector in Nigeria, to create jobs for the youth, inculcate skills and empower the youth for a sustainable and resilient economy.

IV. Appreciation: The Council express its deep appreciation to the Nigerian Security Agencies, especially, the DSS, Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, among others for their role in the peaceful conduct of the NANS 2022 Elective Convention.

The Council also express its appreciation to the respected Stakeholders of NANS for their role in stabilizing the union at all times. Special appreciation also goes to Students Union Government Presidents, Senators, Journalists, observers and most importantly, the Convention Planning Committee for their various contribution during the Course of the 2022 NANS Elective Convention.

Finally, it is the determination of this administration under Comr. Umar Usman Barambu to genuinely champion the legitimate yearnings and aspirations of Nigerian Students and protect their rights, interest and privileges, at all times. It is, therefore, our expectations that Nigerian students whom we are out to serve will continue to give us their maximum support, goodwill and solidarity at all times.
