Vice President (Inter-Campus Affairs) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comr Vanessa Egbeahie, on 7th October, paid a working visit to the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, in Edo State.
She was received by the poly’s Students’ Union President, Comr Osigwe Oshiorenorya Justin and other executive members of the union, where she also had an interactive session with the Rector, Dr Salisu Shehu Umar.
Comr Vanessa spoke on several issues with an assurance that NANS is always ready to intervene on matters, while reiterating on the importance of a good working relationship and synergy between the union and the school management for the progress and development of the institution.
She expressed her heartfelt condolence to the institution’s Management and students over the demise of the polytechnic’s former Acting Rector, Dr Adeboye Mustapha.
On his part, the Chairman, Edo State NANS’ Joint Campus Committee (JCC), Comr Peter Mmakwe reminded the school management that without the students, an institution cannot exist, while reiterating on the welfare and protection of the interest of students at all times.
Responding, the Rector congratulated the NANS Vice President, Comr Vanessa Egbeahie on her recent electoral victory and wished her a successful tenure even as he admonished that the welfare and interest of the students should remain utmost priority to her office.
