Hear him!!!
“Hello everyone, My name is Dennis and I’m fundraising for my tuition fee balance of £8,000. I am an international student from Nigeria currently studying MA International Business, at the University of Greenwich, London.
Born and raised on the streets of Ajegunle, a densely populated suburb in Lagos, Nigeria, the idea and thought of becoming an entrepreneur and travelling abroad was a distant dream of mine. As a young boy, I fantasised about it every time especially whenever I get to watch television or read newspapers on the streets.
I have been working really hard my entire life. I’ve decided that I’m going to make it my mission to become well educated because I want to make a difference and inspire others in my community and in this world. I’ve always wanted to further my education abroad as no one in my family has gotten a masters degree or ever traveled abroad. This has made to study really hard and to do well in school up on till this point.
So, when I received the offer from the University of Greenwich, to enrol in their MA International Business programme, I knew I had to chase this opportunity. The only problem is I’m not able to come up with the money to pay my tuition fees. My family cannot afford the cost, as my father is late, and my mother have been disabled due to an illness. Fortunately, I was able to gather funds from my savings and donations from well wishers to pay an initial deposit to the university and travel to the UK. Indeed “it takes a village to raise a child” and I am extremely grateful for all the support I have received.
However, living in London has become increasingly difficult: the rising inflation has driven living costs to record high numbers, and the university fees are exorbitant for a self-funded full time student. I have tried several options, including taking several menial part-time jobs but I’m only able to cover half of the tuition. My tuition fees are £16,000. So far I’ve paid £8,000 and I need your help to complete the balance of £8,000 which is due on 27/01/2023.
With this, I am here kindly appealing for your generous help through this difficult time as I continue to work towards my future. Every little aid will help me pursue this life-long dream of mine, to which I am getting closer and closer, day by day.
Thank you in advance for your contribution. You have no idea how much it means to me to have your support.”
Sincerely,
Dennis.
